Hazard Control Measures

1. Get  and apply the site specific Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments hazard datasheet from the supplier/manufacturer. 
2. Operatives will be familiar with the existing Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments and will be made aware of the hazards and controls.
3. Where practical low hazardous substances will be used in preference to those that are hazardous.
4. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be used as required particularly when highlighted in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)assessment (e.g. masks, gloves, RPE).
5. General ventilation system/mechanism will be provided where possible when stripping out e.g. open windows and doors etc. to allow the draft to allow through the draft.
6. The grinder can be outfitted with a dust extraction tool.
7. Operatives are informed of the requirement to wash hands thoroughly before eating, drinking and smoking and before going to the toilet.
8. The drivers or operatives will be trained in the correct use of personal protective equipment and informed of the system for issue and renewal. 
9. Soiled gloves are to be disposed of.
